Study tips for procrastinators

Posted by: freshmenfifteen on: December 4, 2009

For new students, this is the first of many final exam weeks to come. Are you prepared? If the answer is no, don’t fret because there is still time. Ten days to be exact, but who’s counting.

So as the clock counts down to the first day of finals the pressure to get going starts and procrastination sets in.

If you find yourself Sunday night just starting to crack open those books … first of all, take a breathe and get organized.

  • Take all a few minutes to lay out important notes, star important dates and fact in your textbook.

Get some healthy snacks (like fruit, peanuts and crackers) and water to keep you going. It is important to keep focused, but stay healthy and be mentally prepared for work.

Get rid of all distractions. That means to “logoff” of Facebook, put down the computer game controller, push pause on the movie and say goodnight to friends.

Lastly, it is good to take a break every once in a while to regroup.

Good luck.
